Gran Passione Gavi DOCG 2015

Brand: Gran Passione is a label of the Botter family, who since 1928 have been producing wines under environmentally friendly practices. Today the company is managed by the family’s third generation, with a “multi-territorial approach that spans the whole of Italy”, focusing on native vines and organic viticulture. Gran Passione sets out to express the passion, devotion and tradition of vine growers.

Tasting Notes: Light gold in colour with aromas of lemon, white flowers and minerals. Green apple, pear and lemon are framed by fresh citrus acidity, a hint of almond biscotti highlights the crisp, mineral driven finish. Lovely on its own, or with mild cheese and cheese-based dishes.

Pairing Suggestions from the Winemaker: Creamy pastas, risotto, grilled seafood and fish.

Tenuta La Marchesa Gavi 2013

gavi

Bright and sunshiny, wonderful to sip on its own or with light dishes.

Estate: The Marchesa estate was founded in 1750 and is located in Gavi, in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Today the estate is owned by the Giulini family and consists of its original land holdings of 188 acres, making it one of the largest in the Gavi region.

Winemaking: Grapes were sourced from sustainably farmed vines nearly 30 years old in sandy, clay-loam soil. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. Extremely low levels of sulphites are used.

Tasting Notes: Straw yellow in colour with aromas of apple and green melon. Fresh, light flavours of apple, lime and hints of coconut wrapped around a bright acidity, dry minerals and honeysuckle lingered between each summery sip.
