Domaine Les Grandes Vignes ‘Groslot’ Vin de France 2020

Estate: Making wine since the 17th century, the Vaillant family passes Domaine Les Grandes Vignes along to each next generation. Located in Coteaux du Layon in the western Loire Valley, their 55 hectares of vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic.

Winemaking: Vines are in clay silt soils with layers of marine fossils/shells. Wild yeast spontaneous fermentation with whole clusters, semi-carbonic maceration,
unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2.

Tasting Notes: Cranberry, pomegranate, red apple, flinty minerality, light tannins glossed by tangy acidity. Morello cherry, trace of smoky earth underscore the vivid cranberry finish. Striking, expressive.
