Estate: Il Farneto is a biodiverse farm of 34 hectares, 8 of which are vineyard, located in the hills of Scandiano and Canossa, in Emilia-Romagna. Founded by Marco Bertoni in the 1990’s, the estate is farmed using organic, biodynamic [certified] and low intervention methods.
Winemaking: Vines are 20 years old in clay/chalk soils at 300 meters in elevation. Wild yeast spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks, second fermentation in the bottle, in Spring, started with juice from the same harvest, unfined, unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Blackberry, blueberry, white pepper, tangy acidity buoyed by voluminous fizz. Light Ceylon tea tannins merge with raisin, dark chocolate, dusty earth minerality on the crunchy finish. Bright, dashing, super gluggable.
Lambrusco Grasparossa “and others”
Emilia Rosso Frizzante IGP
Italy
11.5% Alcohol
