Estate: 4th generation farmer Ruben Parera, along with his father Jordi are pioneers of organic/biodynamic viticulture in the Alt-Pénedes of northwest Spain. The 10 hectare, polyculture estate consists of fruit and olive trees, grains and beekeeping in addition to old-vine vineyards.
Winemaking: Certified organic and biodynamic. Hand harvested from “L’Hort”, “L’Ull de Llebre” and “Les Prunes” vineyards with red calcareous clay soils, at about 235 meters in elevation. Wild yeast spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks, gravity fed bottling during the descending moon, unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2.
Tasting Notes: Black cherry, black current, blackberry, iron minerality, trace of licorice, black olive across tingly acidity and fine grain tannins. Wild berries, herbs, white pepper linger between each sleek sip. Engaging and plump.
