Cantina Giardino ‘Na’ Vino Bianco 2020

Estate: Founded in 1997, Cantina Giardino is a collaboration between Antonio and Daniela di Gruttola, along with 4 of their friends. They set out to save indigenous, old vineyards in Irpinia that were at risk of being abandoned or uprooted. Vineyards occupy 16 distinct parcels, totaling nearly 6 hectares. Allowing the grape and the volcanic terroir express itself, Antonio farms using low intervention, biodynamic and organic methods.

Winemaking: Wild yeast spontaneous fermentation with 4 days skin contact, pressed and blended, aged 9 months in old chestnut casks, unfined, unfiltered.

Tasting Notes: Tangy, tingly acidity swirls around peach, melon, pear, ginger, wisp of smoke, jasmin green tea tannins. Chamomile, clover honey, grapefruit, trace of eucalyptus infuse the crisp mineral finish. Gleaming, sinuous.

Mostly Falanghina and Coda di Volpe, with a bit of Greco
Vino Bianco
