Sassara ‘Esotico’ Veneto Rosso IGP 2020

Winery: Located just south of Lake Garda on Monte Mamaor, Vini Sassara is a project from winemakers Alessia and Stefano Bertaiola. Taking over Stefano’s family property in 2007, the husband and wife team revitalized 10 hectares of native/traditional vineyards using biodynamic and organic [certified] methods.

Winemaking: Marine/glacial soils with clay deposits 200 meters in elevation. Wild yeast spontaneous co-fermentation of both red and white grapes, 10 day skin maceration, unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2.

Tasting Notes: Pink grapefruit, mango, lemon, pear, peach, chalky minerality buoyed by light fizz. Blood orange, lemon zest play up the hazelnut finish. Relaxed and breezy.

Blend of Corvina, Rossanella, Rondinella, Molinara, Fernanda, Moscato, Trebbianello, Trebbiano, Garganega and Tocai
