Estate: Beatrice Arweiler founded the biodiverse farm of Corvagialla near Lake Bolsena on the border between Lazio and Umbria in Lubriano. The 4 hectares of vineyards are surrounded by olive groves, fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Viticulture is organic, biodynamic and with minimal intervention since it’s establishment in 2007.
Philosophy: “Our priority is, above all, to respect nature.”
Winemaking: Vines are in volcanic soil rich in iron and minerals, grapes are selected from the most “vigorous parcels” of the vineyard. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, aged in fiberglass vats, unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2, bottled in March.
Tasting Notes: Black cherry, smoky earth, pomegranate, strawberry, wildflowers, shake of black pepper framed by fine tannins and tangy acidity. Roasted hazelnut, candied apple, black cherry linger between each plush sip. Vibrant, a firecracker of a Sangiovese.
