Winery: Piccolo Podere del Ceppaiolo is a collaboration between Umbrian natural viticulture guru Danilo Marcucci and Riccardo Pennaforti. The entire estate consists of only a hectare of old [80+ years in age] vineyards in Bastia, near Assisi in Umbria.
Winemaking: Vines are in clay and limestone soils at 350 meters in elevation. Half of the grapes left on the skins for 10 days, aged in fiberglass tanks for 6 months, no added SO2.
Tasting Notes: Citrus acidity glosses mango, almond, orange and lemongrass. Gossamer green tea tannins fuse with ginger, orange zest and pistachio on the saline mineral finish. Crisp, vibrant, lively.
