Huia Grüner Veltliner Marlborough 2019

Estate: Husband and wife team Mike and Claire Allan founded Huia in 1996, with an appreciation of the sense of land, heritage and tradition. The 9 hectare estate is close to the Wairau River in Marlborough’s much coveted Rapaura district. Dedicated to environmental sustainability, organic [certified 2011] and biodynamic methods, they are steadfast in their vision of “providing a healthy environment for everybody involved”.

Winemaking: Grapes are from the Kennedy Road Vineyard, with vines around 10 years old, with well drained, stony/clay soils. Hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts.

Tasting Notes: Pear, melon, lemon, fresh herbs, white flowers glossed by bright acidity. Orange zest infuses the crisp, flinty mineral finish. Sleek and lavish.
