Estate: Oreste Buzio, his wife Daniela along with sons Andrea and Marco, head the estate his grandfather Agostino founded in 1860. Located within the rolling hills of Monferrato Casalese in Piedmont, respect for the environment and organic farming has been passed down from father to son [the estate is certified organic]. The family focuses on indigenous grapes such as Barbera, Grignolino and Freisa; the wines are celebrated for their delicate, pure character.
Winemaking: From vines in predominately clay soils with moderate calcareous additions. Aged in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Red-violet in colour, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, rose petal, violet. Black currant, cranberry, blackberry, strawberry, bramble, tangy acidity glide atop fine grain tannins. Wild red berries linger on the spicy finish. Robust, silky, vivid.
