Estate: Elvio Cogno is responsible for saving Nascetta, a grape native to Piemonte from extinction. Following in his footsteps, his daughter Nadia Cogno along with Valter Fissore are dedicated to the preservation of their unique terroir and native grapes. Their 15 hectares of vineyards are located in Novello, next to Barolo in Piemonte. In addition to organic practices in the vineyard and cellar, they expand and protect the biodiversity of their property.
Winemaking: Vineyards are on the top of a hill at 350 meters in elevation, with limestone, clay and sandy soils. Fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts, aged on the lees for 6 months.
Tasting Notes: Gold in colour, with aromas of lemon, rosemary, flinty minerality, smoky earth and beeswax. Lemon, pignoli, campfire smoke, lemongrass are underlined with racy acidity. Pear, apple and chamomile infuse the nutty finish. Sleek and engaging.
