Estate: Established by Beatrice Arweiler in 2007, Corvagialla is located in Lubriano, near Lake Bolsena on the border between Lazio and Umbria. The 4 hectares of vineyards are surrounded by olive groves, fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Viticulture is organic, biodynamic and with minimal intervention.
Philosophy: “Our priority is, above all, to respect nature.”
Winemaking: Vines are in volcanic soil rich in iron and minerals. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, carbonic maceration, 8-10 months ageing in used oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered, no added SO2.
Tasting Notes: Hazy red-violet in colour, with aromas of strawberry, cherry pit, blueberry, black cherry, rhubarb, forest floor, wildflowers, licorice. Tangy acidity and black tea tannins frame cherry, strawberry, hibiscus, red currant and saline minerality. Roasted nuts and a wisp of smoke accent the cherry finish. Vibrant and engaging.
