Estate: The Ferretti family has been cultivating grapes in the middle of the Tortona Hills in eastern Piemonte since the early 1900’s. The estate has been organic since 1985, when Enio Ferretti took the reins. He is dedicated to the native grapes of the region; Barbera, Dolcetto, Freisa, Cortese and of course Timorasso.
Winemaking: Vines are in calcareous clay soils at 300 meters in elevation. Native yeast fermentation, aged in steel [minimum of 10 months according to DOC law], no added SO2.
Tasting Notes: Gold in colour, with aromas of almond, candied ginger, white flowers, lemon, petrol. Honeyed layers of almond biscotti, lemon, pear and wildflowers are accented by racy acidity. Lemon, baked apple, nutmeg and clover honey infuse the mineral driven finish. Creamy, lush, engaging.
