Estate: Joining the ranks of pioneering, low intervention, winemakers in Abruzzo, Luca Bevilacqua farms 2 hectares of vineyards that have never seen chemicals. Located in the lower valley of the Sangro River in Chieti, in addition to organic farming, he utilizes traditional methods such as foot pressing, basket pressing and demi-john ageing.
Winemaking: Grapes from Luca’s father’s vineyard, 0.5 hectares with vines 35 years old in pebbly clay soils. Skin maceration for 1 night, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in stainless steel, aged in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Transparent light ruby in colour, with aromas of strawberry, cherry and hay. Cherry, pomegranate, earth and fresh acidity fuse with light, airy fizz. Wild strawberry accents the crisp mineral finish. Super refreshing, super gluggable.
