Winery: Founded in 2013 by friends Emiliano Giorgio and Arcangelo Galuppi, Sete is both a winery and cultural project. Located in the Amaseno River valley of Lazio, in between Rome and Naples, in the small village of Priverno, the goal of Sete is to “save from oblivion old, abandoned vineyards and almost forgotten varieties”. Vineyards are cultivated organically and with minimal intervention, each vineyard parcel is vinified separately.
Winemaking: All wines are fermented with native yeasts, are unfined and unfiltered, without the addition of sulphur. Vines are in clay/limestone soils, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts with 2 days maceration on the skins in stainless steel, aged on the lees for 8 months in stainless steel. Only 1637 bottles produced.
Tasting Notes: Orange-gold in colour, with aromas of lemon, ginger, clove, chamomile, cut grass, and honeysuckle. Tangy acidity glosses lemon, grapefruit, lemongrass, turmeric root and saline minerality. Lemon, pineapple and a nutty streak linger on the salty finish. Zippy, bright, engaging.
