Estate: Settling in the Loire Valley, American and British wife and husband team Julie and Toby Bainbridge focus on crafting fresh, bright wines in Anjou. Their 4 hectares of old vines are farmed organically, biodynamically and with minimal intervention.
Winemaking: Hand harvested grapes are from vines 85 years old, in black schist soils. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in fiberglass vats, carbonic maceration with light CO2 left, unfined, unfiltered, minimal sulphur added.
Tasting Notes: Red-violet in colour, with aromas of blueberry, black cherry, chocolate, cinnamon bark, violet and forest floor. Rich blueberry, black cherry, bramble and the slightest trace of fizz are flanked by firm tannins and fresh acidity. A bitter streak accents dark chocolate, elderflower, black currant and blueberry on the velvety finish. Opulent and lush.
