Estate: Passionately revitalizing indigenous varietals, Mario Lucchetti was one of the original Lacrima winemakers in the Lacrima di Morro d’Alba DOC of the Marche region. Beginning with just a few hectares, he has increased the organically farmed estate to 18 hectares, crafting 4 different wines all from the Lacrima grape. Today his son Paolo works by his side “to carry the family tradition into the next decades”.
Winemaking: Grapes are from vines 15-30 years in ages, in clay soil at 180/220 meters [590/755 feet] in elevation. Fermented with native yeasts, aged in stainless steel tanks followed by an additional 3 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes: Dark red-violet in colour, with aromas of blueberry, black cherry, wildflowers and earth. Blackberry, blueberry, bramble, baking chocolate and fresh acidity glide atop firm tannins. Tangy fruit lingers on the smoky finish. Plush and well balanced.
