Winery: Founded in 2013 by friends Emiliano Giorgio and Arcangelo Galuppi, Sete is both a winery and cultural project. Located in the Amaseno River valley of Lazio, in between Rome and Naples, in the small village of Priverno, the goal of Sete is to “save from oblivion old abandoned vineyards and almost forgotten varieties”. Vineyards are cultivated organically and with minimal intervention, each vineyard parcel is vinified separately.
Winemaking: All wines are fermented with native yeasts, are unfined and unfiltered, without the addition of sulphur. Grapes are from vines about 35 years in age with limestone soils. Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts for about 48 hours of skin maceration. Aged in fiberglass on fine lees for 8 months. 1851 bottles produced.
Tasting Notes: Deep orange-gold in colour, with aromas of orange, bergamot, nectarine, amber resin, sea spray and roasted nuts. Tangy acidity glosses nectarine, lemon, orange, herbs, and a trace of roasted nuts. Citrus accents the smoky, salty mineral driven finish. Avid and engaging.
