Winery: Combining ancient Etruscan techniques and biodynamic methods, Raffaele Diana cares for the old vineyards of native grapes inherited from his grandparents. Located north of Naples, in Villa Literna, around the city of Caserta, the 3 hectares of native grapes are surrounded by 3 hectares of trees and greenery, necessary to the traditional vine training methods. Asprinio vines are trained with the ancient alberate system; running up, between and wrapped around trees as the supports.
Winemaking: Vines are in volcanic tuff soil, spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in stainless steel tanks, aged in amphora.
Tasting Notes: Orange gold in colour, with aromas of orange, wildflowers, drizzle of caramel, saline minerality and hay. Tangy acidity and green tea tannins flank orange, lemon zest, pear, yellow apple, chalky minerality and a trace of candied ginger. A streak of walnut accents the citrus zest finish. Ardent and vivid.
