Estate: Francesco Rinaldi e Figli is one of the most famous names in Piemonte. Established in 1870 by Giovanni Rinaldi, his son Francesco became a legendary figure in Barolo. The estate has been passed down to each generation, today it is headed by Paola and Piera Rinaldi. With vineyards in Barolo, Castiglione Falletto and La Morra, they embody the best in Barolo. The estate is famed for crafting wines that embrace history and tradition, and are “beautiful, classic expressions of their underlying terroirs”. Vineyards are farmed organically.
Winemaking: Vineyards are in the municipality of Montaldo Scarampi. Fermented in stainless steel tanks for 8 days, followed by several months ageing in stainless steel, bottled in the spring.
Tasting Notes: Transparent ruby in colour, with aromas of strawberry, cherry and white pepper. Cherry, rose petal, wild strawberry, pomegranate, trace of flinty minerality along with fresh acidity glide atop black tea tannins. A bitter cherry skin streak melds with red currant and cherry on the spicy finish. Silky and vibrant.
