Estate: Named after an ancient stream that once flowed where the vines now are, Fontezoppa is located in the hills between Civitanova Alta and Serrapetrona in the Marche. The area is known for its unique microclimate created by the mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Founded in 1999, the 71 hectare property has 58 hectares of organic and sustainably farmed vineyards.
Winemaking: Grapes are from vines in rocky, mineral rich soils at 380 meters in elevation. Fermented and aged in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Pale gold in colour, with aromas of lemon, sage, rosemary, white flowers and chalky minerals. Lemon, pineapple, herbs, grapefruit and almond are accented by racy acidity. Rosemary and citrus linger on the mineral driven, crisp finish. Silky, fresh, agile, a fantastic value.
