Estate: For over 100 years, the Bombetti family have cultivated their 3 hectares of land, 2 hectares for vines, the rest a mix of olive & fruit trees and vegetable gardens. Located 40 km southeast of Rome, father and son Sergio and Paulo Bombetti farm with low intervention, organic and traditional methods. Grapes are those traditional to the area, the vines are all over 40 years in age.
Winemaking: Vineyards are 300 meters in elevation, with volcanic, tuffaceous soils. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, 8 days skin contact. Aged in fiberglass. Minimal added sulfur, no filtering or fining.
Tasting Notes: Transparent garnet in colour, with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, bramble and wildflowers. Blueberry, red currant, sour cherry, blackberry, earth and bramble are accented by fresh acidity. Cherry, black cherry, cranberry and vein of flinty minerality linger on the fruity finish. Juicy, fresh, super gluggable.
