Estate: Sven Enderle and Florian Moll founded Enderle & Moll in 2007. The estate consists of 5 hectares of vineyards in Münchweier, a historic winemaking village on the slopes of the Black Forest in Baden. Revitalizing old vines [45-60 years in age] and practicing super low intervention, organic and biodynamic farming has not made them popular amongst the local winemakers who are farming for quantity not quality. Rebels and pioneers, their expressive wines have quickly developed a cult following.
Winemaking: Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, “3-4 week maceration and fermentation, then pressed. The wine is then moved to a 1000 liter clay tank and 30% of the skins are added back in. It then matures for 10 months on the full lees” [from the importer]. No added sulphites, unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Gold in colour with aromas of grapefruit, lime, hay, wildflowers and saline minerality. Lemon, candied ginger and grapefruit are highlighted by citrus acidity. Green apple, lemon and delicate summer herbs shimmer on the lengthy finish. Bright, fresh and agile.
