Estate: Iconic, legendary, 5th generation winemaker Giuseppe “Beppo” Rinaldi was renowned for his strict adherence to traditional methods and crafting some of the greatest Barolo. Uncompromising and nicknamed “Citrico” [citric] for his pointed, harsh comments, he was one of the most respected winemakers in Piemonte. His daughters Carlotta and Marta had been working alongside him, today they head the renowned estate. The 6 hectares of organically farmed vineyards are spread across of the most famous crus of Barolo: Cannubi, Brunate, Le Coste, and Ravera. In addition to Nebbiolo, other indigenous Piemonte varietals are grown; Barbera, Dolcetto, Ruchè and Freisa.
Winemaking: Fermented with indigenous yeasts, unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Red violet in colour with aromas of strawberry, rose petal, raspberry, black cherry, black pepper, roasted poblano and earth. Cherry, blackberry, raspberry, red currant, black pepper and earthy minerality are framed by silky tannins and fresh acidity. Red berries linger on the spice driven, dry finish. An elegant edge infuses each silky sip.
