Winery: Cembra Cantina di Montagna was founded in 1952. Consisting of 400 winegrowers “passionately dedicated to heroic grape growing”, the cooperative is one of the highest [550 to 850 meters above sea level] in Trentino, northeastern Italy. The alliance of winegrowers are committed to protecting the environment, along with the “preservation of biodiversity and the beauty of a land”. Farming is certified sustainable.
Winemaking: Grapes are from vines in silt/sandy red porphyry soils. Fermented in stainless steel, aged 4-5 months in fiberglass tanks.
Tasting Notes: Transparent ruby red in colour, with aromas of wild berries, rose petal, spice and earth. Flavours amplify the aromas, with strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, white pepper and rose petal supported by silky tannins and fresh acidity. Berries and earth linger between each fruity sip. Agile, light and super gluggable.
