Estate: Marco Santori founded Tenuta Santori in his native Ripatransone in Piceno, in the Marche region of central/eastern Italy. Coming from a family of local nurserymen and armed with a degree in viticulture, he set out to create superior wines in Piceno; “We have generous territory; we also have tradition, indigenous varieties, and abundant expertise. Then we try to excel, to be us, an example of quality and style!”.
The 25 hectares of vineyards and olive groves are farmed organically and in harmony with nature, the winery has a zero environmental impact. Marco along with native Marche winemaker Pierluigi Lorenzetti focus on indigenous and traditional varieties such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Passerina and Pecorino.
The deconstructed vine leaf seen on his labels is representative of his attention to detail and “the possibility to see beyond, to join strategic points and then find hills, rivers, and valleys: land of elegant and sincere wines, like the region to which it belongs, MARCHE”.
Winemaking: Hand harvested grapes are from vines in limestone soil, aged in stainless steel.
Tasting Notes: Gold in colour with aromas of apple, citrus, white flowers, sea spray minerality and nuts. Lemon driven, with granny smith apple and clean minerality gliding over tangy acidity. Candied ginger, citrus, nuts and a drizzle of honey infuse the lengthy, dry finish. Refreshing and snappy.
