Estate: Located in the northeastern corner of Piemonte, Cantine San Matteo was founded in 1837. Over the years the family has acquired additional land. Today the 3rd generation of the family heads the estate. Sustainable and eco-friendly methods are used in both the vineyards and winery. A photovoltaic system provides the electricity, and all of the water comes from the family’s well. Chemicals are not used at all.
Winemaking: Grapes are from vines in sand and clay soils. Fermented in stainless steel, aged on the lees for 2-3 months.
Tasting Notes: Light gold in colour with aromas of pear, almond, herbs and grapefruit. Green apple, pear, citrus and racy acidity highlight the light, nearly creamy texture. Subtle almond, lemon and apple linger on the dry, crisp finish.
Fresh and easy drinking.
