Estate: Morisfarms was founded over 200 years ago by the Moris family when they left Spain, passionate to farm the Maremma area in southwestern Tuscany. The estate is made up of two properties totaling 476 hectares, with 70 hectares of vineyards. Dedicated to the land and wine, the family farms organically and is renowned as one of the “finest producers in Maremma”.
Winemaking: From northwest facing vines in sandy soils, fermented and aged in stainless steel, bottled after 4 months.
Tasting Notes: Dark red-violet in colour with aromas of black cherry, black currant, plum, fig, earth, spice and a trace of Rose Royce funk. Rich black currant, black cherry, blackberry, plum and brambly Toscana underbrush are glossed by fresh acidity, supported by silky tannins. Dark fruit, tobacco and spice on the lengthy, sleek finish. Well balanced, juicy and silky, a lush expression of Sangiovese [and a great value].
