Fresh and easygoing, a lovely glugable, boxed wine to have on hand.
Estate: The Montirius estate was founded in 1925 and has been under the leadership of the Saurel winemaking family for the past 5 generations. Located in the Côtes du Rhône, the estate consists of 133 acres of vineyards that are cultivated using organic and biodynamic methods.
Winemaking: Christine and Eric Saurel converted to organic and biodynamic practices in 1996, the wine is certified organic. Grapes were vinified in concrete vats, only indigenous yeasts were used.
Tasting Notes: Bright red-violet in colour with aromas of strawberry, summer woods and hints of tobacco. Earthy leather notes frame pleasantly tart fruit flavours of cranberry and red currant, finishing with smooth tannins and spicy black peppercorn.
