Château la Pigotte Terre Feu Médoc 2010

A refined, classic Bordeaux at a fantastic price.

Winery: I was unable to locate estate or winemaking information; the only relevant information is Maison Johanès Boubée listed as Négociant and Metrowine as the importer and distributer in the States. Maison Johanès Boubée was founded over 100 years ago and is now the largest wine wholesaler in France. Patrick Baugier founded Metrowine in 1988, which expanded his father’s status as vineyard owner, négociant and the head of the largest winegrower association in St. Emilion. Today the company is rising to a market leading role in the Metro New York area as one of the top purveyors of Bordeaux wines.

Tasting Notes: Dark garnet in colour with strawberry, coffee and bright herbaceous aromas. Cherry and strawberry flavours reclined on fresh, sweet green herbaceous elements and silky smooth tannins, whilst rich coffee, vanilla and whispers of spicy clove comprised the lengthy finish.

50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Mis en Bouteille au Chateau
14.5% Alcohol
Enjoy now thru 2017

The rather intense sediment that had me considering  “tea leaf” reading. I recommend decanting!
