A lovely Bardolino from the shores of Lake Garda, best enjoyed with a slight chill, easy drinking with a wide variety of dishes.
Winery: Cantina Castelnuovo del Garda was founded in 1958 by 11 growers in the Garda region Veneto, northeastern Italy. Today the winery consists of more then 260 grape growers with 1200 hectares of vineyards located on a wide hilly area south and east of Lake Garda.
Winemaking: Grapes were sourced from vines 10-25 years old, aged 4 months in steel tanks.
Tasting Notes: Dark garnet in colour with enticing aromas of anise biscotti, raisins and floral traces. Dense cherry and raisin flavours were balanced by a buoyant acidity, whilst dusty earth, white pepper and licorice comprised the lengthy finish.
