Rustic and charming, fantastic with all kinds of pizza and pasta dishes, this is a wonderful everyday red blend and a spectacular value.
Estate: The Romagnoli Winery is a small family estate established in 1857 and located in the Marches region between Tuscany and Umbria along the Adriatic Coast. Passionate about producing traditional wines that express the fruit profile of each individual grape varietal, they utilize classic practices predominately, employing modern methods only where needed, such as thermoregulation tank control.
Philosophy: Their philosophy is one of “respecting the great characteristics of the grapes” and can be seen in the family’s motto “Piccoli Produttori – GRAND VINI” [Small Producers-BIG WINES].
Tasting Notes: Dark garnet with brilliant ruby red highlights, with aromas of morello cherry, leather and a hint of barnyard funk. Tart cherry and blackberry notes glide over an herbaceous undercurrent whilst crushed white peppercorn, graphite minerals and rich cherry elements comprised the velvety finish.
Blend of Lacrima, Montepulciano and Sangiovese [I could not verify varietal percentages.]
