Friulano is an indigenous grape of northeastern Italy known for its citrus and herb flavours, balanced acidity and refreshing minerality. The Terčič estate is located in San Floriano del Collio, on the border with Slovenia in the most eastern area of northern Italy. In one of the oldest inhabited regions of Italy, the Terčič family has been growing grapes for over a century. In the early 1990’s Matjaz Terčič took over the 9.5 hectare estate from his father and transformed the approach to grape growing in order to craft “estate bottled” wines. With an emphasis on environmental harmony, Terčič focuses on preserving “a balance among everything that goes to produce the wine”, in order to craft wines that express “the very essence of the integration of man with the land around him”.
Straw yellow in colour with intriguing aromas of smoke, tar, lemon and wildflowers. Cheery lemon and traces of smoky hay merged into a zippy finish of citrus zest and clean minerals. Engaging and bright, this is a distinctive companion with smoky and salty foods.
