Cecchi ‘Bonizio’ Tuscan Red Blend 2012

photo 3

The Cecchi family estate was founded in 1893 and has become renowned for their “classic in style” wines. Their winemaking vision centers on the belief that there is an “unbreakable union between wine and terroir”. Throughout the past century, the family has always placed an emphasis on protecting the soil and environment, and today employs sustainable methods in both the vineyards and the winemaking processes. Bonizio takes its name from the boldest cowboy to ride amongst the legendary cowboys of Tuscany’s coastal Maremma region. The grapes were sourced from the Maremma area and hills of the Chianti Classico region.

Pleasantly dry tannins in the medium body supported straightforward fruit flavours of black cherry and plum, whilst earthy, dry leaves along with white peppercorn lingered comfortably between each sip. Cheerful and food-friendly, this is a fantastic addition to weekday dinners. [And a great value!]
Best enjoyed slightly chilled.

80% Merlot, 20% Sangiovese
