Villadoria is a family estate in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont run by 3rd generation winemaker Daniele Lanzavecchia along with his daughter Paola. In addition to not using chemicals of any kind in the vineyards or winery, the family are founding members of the Associazione Nazionale del Biotipico [National Association for Bio-typical Products]. Wines bearing this “bio-typical” seal are “produced in limited areas, characterized by specific climatic and soil conditions” without the use of chemicals, fertilizers, hormones or additives of any kind, including “a series of specific considerations for the health of the soil, which as a living organism has to be nurtured”.
Brick red in colour with aromas of wild strawberry and dusty earth. Black cherry, strawberry jam and earth elements joined dry tannins, white peppercorn and dried cherry notes in the compact finish. Balanced and easy drinking, this is a fantastic companion to casual, weekday dishes.
