For the past 30 years the Hope family has been farming in the Paso Robles region. They currently produce 5 different wine brands, Liberty School, Treana, Candor, Austin Hope and Troublemaker. Crafted to be a multi-vintage and multi-varietal brand, Troublemaker is now their fastest growing label. In addition to their sustainably farmed estate vineyard, they encourage sustainable farming methods to all of the growers and viticulturists in the Central Coast region of California they source grapes from. Blend 7 is a Rhône inspired blend consisting of 100% Paso Robles grapes mostly from the 2012 vintage, with smaller amounts coming from the 2011 and 2010 vintages.
A fun, funky red with dense, dark fruits and smoked meat flavours that culminate in a lengthy finish of chocolate, espresso and just the right amount of black peppercorn. Not your typical fruit forward, heavily oaked California red blend, this is a fantastic hearty and unique sip that can hold its own next to the most robust of dishes.
