Shebang! Sixth Cuvee NV

Always a fan of the fast-talking 1920’s Americana phrase “the whole shebang”, I enthusiastically added Shebang! Sixth Cuvee to my shopping basket. Shebang is a project of Bedrock Wine Co.’s Morgan Twain Peterson. Not only is Peterson the son of Ravenswood founder and Zinfandel King Joel Peterson, he is also one of only 30 Masters of Wine in the US. His mission is “to fashion innovative, old vine cuvees that satisfy the most demanding wine enthusiasts”. Designated as an Old Vine Cuvee, 92% of the grapes in the Sixth Cuvee were sourced from vines more than 90 years old, including a portion from the 100+ year old Bedrock vineyard in Sonoma Valley. Only native yeasts were used during fermentation, and neutral containers were utilized for ageing.

Red-violet in colour with aromas of cherry, blueberry and chocolate. Mixed berry pie flavours filled the medium body, whilst spicy pink peppercorn and rich chocolate elements comprised the moderate finish. Straightforward and easy drinking, this is a crowd pleasing, everyday table wine.

60% Zinfandel with winemaker’s blend of Carignan, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah “and other assorted old vine field blend grapes”
Vinted & Bottled by Bedrock Wine Co, Sonoma
14.2% Alcohol
Enjoy now thru 2014
