Mont Tauch is located in the Languedoc region of southern France at the base of Mont Tauch Mountain. It is one of France’s leading cooperatives, consisting of 250 growers, and 1950 hectares of 7,000 small vineyards. For the majority of the growers the vineyards have been in their family for multiple generations, and they are passionate about the individual character of each vineyard and varietal. They adhere to strict principles of sustainable farming and keep the processes in the winery as natural as possible. The wild garrigue [Mediterranean terrain of thyme rosemary, lavender, juniper etc] that surrounds Mont Tauch is home to wild boars that have fittingly become the logo for all Mont Tauch wines. Fitou is both an appellation and red wine, it was the first red wine in the Languedoc to be recognized and given an AOC status in 1948. The dominant grape varieties in Fitou wines are Carignan and Grenache, together these two grapes must constitute at least 60% of the blend, Syrah and Mourvedre tend to make up the remainder.

Dark garnet in colour with aromas of raspberry, chocolate ganache and forest, corresponding flavours of raspberry and chocolate were joined by toasted oak and velvety tannins, whilst spicy pink peppercorn and raisin elements comprised the moderate finish. Easy drinking with rustic charm, this is a fantastic companion at the table, especially with hearty dishes and cheeses.
