Sella & Mosca was founded over 100 years ago by Mr. Sella and Mr. Mosca, two businessmen from Piedmont that were also passionate amateur Egyptologists [The Sella & Mosca logo is a stylized depiction of an Egyptian relief of men pressing grapes]. Today the estate is owned by Campari, and is one of the largest contiguous vineyards in all of Italy. Located in northwest Sardinia, the 1600 acre estate has 1200 acres of vineyards, along with a renowned museum and restaurant. The estate is committed to promoting biodiversity and has nurtured the return of Mediterranean plants such as palms, eucalyptus, pines and other native scrub species.
Pale straw with a slight green highlights, assertive aromas of citrus leaf, lemon and herbs radiated from the glass. Rich baked apple and traces of basil infused the light body, whilst honeysuckle, sea salt minerals and traces of bitter almond comprised the finish. Refreshing, bright, sincere, this is a great accompaniment to summer dishes.
