Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Hess Select wines are intended to be affordable, approachable and for immediate enjoyment, not to be put away in the cellar.  Hess Family Estates was founded in 1844 in Switzerland as a beer brewery; winemaking began 1978 when Donald Hess founded the Hess Winery on Mount Veeder in Napa Valley, California. Today the family owned, fourth generation company is firmly committed to sustainable farming practices, receiving many accolades for its green business practices. The grapes for the Select label are sourced from Hess’s grower partners who also practice sustainable farming, located in Lake, Napa and Mendocino Counties.

Dark garnet in colour, after aerating aromas of cherry, raspberry and toasted oak swirled about in the glass. Cherry and blackberry flavours along with traces of earthy woods and green pepper comprised the medium body, whilst spicy black peppercorn, rich chocolate, raisin and smoky cedar elements elongated the velvety finish. Easy drinking, this is a budget friendly, crowd pleasing Cab, fantastic for the table.
