Château de Saillans Bordeaux 2010

I keep buying 2009 and 2010 Bordeaux Superieurs and Cru Bourgeois but I’ve been exercising self control and rather than enjoy them now, I’ve been cellaring them just for another year or so. I figured that the Saillans Bordeaux wouldn’t necessarily benefit from any additional cellaring since it is more of an entry level Bordeaux. Unfortunately I was unable to locate any winery or producer information, other than Château de Saillans wines are under the direction of Jean Pierre Charritte.

Ruby garnet in colour, after decanting aromas of fresh berries and baking spices rose from the glass. Bright fruit flavours of raspberry, blackberry and cherry were supported by traces of maple syrup and smooth tannins. Cracked white peppercorn, dark chocolate and earthy cinnamon elements comprised the velvety finish. A lovely balance of sweet fruit with smooth, dry tannins makes this an easy drinking glass great for a wide variety of dishes.

60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc
Mis en Bouteille au Château [Estate Bottled]
13.5% Alcohol
Enjoy now thru 2015
