True to style, my sister brought many bottles of wine over on Christmas. As she arranged her fruit plate, we fancied something light and sparkly so we popped open Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco NV. I am a fan of Cupcake wines, whilst not monumental by any means, they are simple, approachable and fantastic crowd pleasers. Cupcake Vineyards are based in California’s Central Coast and began distributing their wines nationally in 2008. Australian winemaker Adam Richardson is responsible for their international portfolio of wines, which has grown to include wines from New Zealand, Argentina, Australia and Italy.
Pale yellow in colour, aromas of golden apples and honey radiated from the glass. Sweet apple and orange blossom notes abounded in the light, fizzy body. Toasted nuts drizzled with honey comprised the crisp finish. Fruity, fizzy and easy-sipping, this is a festive glass great for adding a touch of merriment anytime.
